Best Practices Learn To Read
After discussing with teachers, it has been observed that there were many areas where we need
to work for enhancing reading skills among students. The children in primary classes were facing
the problem of fluency, proper pronunciation of words, taking pauses while reading, and the
biggest problem that teachers faced was comprehension of reading. After discussion with
teachers who were teaching in primary classes we also found some of the problems like-
1. Unable in Letter recognition
2. Unable to pronounce of letter-sound.
3. Unable to read print rich material.
I decided to implement reading cards for all primary classes. Under the guidance of Ms. Sandhya
Pardeshi, Primary Teacher, teachers started giving self prepared printed reading cards and
focused reading while classroom teaching and remedial teaching for slow learners. The results of
reading cards were as per our expectations. The students of primary classes started giving
importance to reading. All the students of all primary classes started sending vidoes and selfies
while reading.
